Bedroom

We have a storage problem in the bedroom and the layout is a little awkward for a double bed as the ceiling is quite low, but we are working on solving that problem by building fitted cupboards. In the meantime here are some pictures of our progress. Our main problem is the leaking chimney stack which resulted in the paper on one wall coming off. It was lined with polystyrene so all of it was stripped and we are now letting the wall dry out. This hasn't stopped us from painting the rest of the bedroom though to freshen and clean it up. Gone is the Blue and Yellow colour scheme and welcome to Damson.

I desperately needed a wardrobe so went to a junk shop and bought this wreck. Some of it was completely rotten and Lee treated the rest with woodworm treatment before I got started on it.

Rubbed it down and painted it up. Lee fixed the wonky door and drawer and sawed off part of the legs so that it fitted in our tight space. Just about got it up the stairs.

Our Bed is Too Big

Because most of our house stuff is in storage we were sleeping on the mattress on the floor. This was fine but when we went and got our bed, this was the result.

Okay, so we are now waiting for a lower bed.

These doors are just bugging me for some reason - I just don't like them. So ... I ordered some very different wallpaper and decided to make a feature wall out of it. I'm just waiting for Lee to do his wardrobe at the end and hopefully I can make a good job of putting it up. Slightly worried as there is a little packet of glue with the wallpaper?

Lining up the pictures on this blog is driving me nuts! How can these all be Left Aligned hmmph.

The Dumping Ground

At the moment with all the fences and trellis falling down we are putting it all in the middle of the Vegetable patch as this is going to be cleared for our Archery range ... we are making a big mess! The paving slabs will be re-used for the patio area off the conservatory ... and I am trying to save all the plants.

I've also planted about 80 willow sticks around the fence line at the back to fill in all the gaps. The buds are just coming out so hopefully we will have a nice boundary overlooking the old Railway and the Llamas and Bison!

This is what it looked liked in the Summer and what it looks like now.

Lots of mess

I think that blue shed might need painting BLACK.

Perfect Little Corner

I was going to plant my Rose of Sharon here but it's filled out with little Snowdrops, Crocus and Daffodils so this pretty little corner is staying as it is. Might paint the tractor thingy though.

Chicken Coop

Yes, we have a chicken coop and as much as I like chickens I know nothing about keeping them. Lee's not fussed, so the carpenter is having this as he keeps chickens. Nice coop though and the little chickens had a nice big run in the mini orchard. It was fenced but is all coming down :)

Might need a few more fruit trees.

Lots of weeding to do here, possibly bark it all or maybe a Wildflower meadow.

Caravan

Two of these large tubs were in the garden and the other two were on the grass verge by the road. They didn't really look very nice where they were so I planted them up with some of the climbing roses that were in the garden, bought some cheap obelisks and put them by the caravan as a privacy screen. I just need to paint the planters black but this looks a lot better. Lee painted the bottom of the caravan black - so much nicer.

The photos below are different views around the caravan. We've certainly got our work cut out over the Summer. Haven't worked out why we have so many road cones yet.

Old Steamer Trunk

Definitely into Up-Cycling at the moment. Got this old trunk on Ebay and gave it a lick of paint or two.

Boiler Broke

Our first major disaster. Well second really, as we already had the boiler men around to sort out the electrics on the boiler so that the timer worked, and also remove some radiator pipes that were just sticking out of the floor in the hallway. Anyway the floor flooded and we had to replace the boiler. This led to us having to put new panels up in the conservatory to cover the new pipes and filter. An excellent opportunity to strip and repaint the wall as some of the wallpaper was peeling away anyway. This is what it looked like before.
