Another Border full of Crocosmia and Geraniums. I really like Crocosmia but not everywhere. I have saved some for planting at the Side of the house at the front and the rest has gone to good homes.
So this is what the border looked like before I dug it out. As always mum has been helping and kept me going :)

and more Geraniums to the Back |
I have been very brutal with this border to let the light and air in and also the rain. The Geraniums and Crocosmia had taken over (as with all the borders) and the existing plants were struggling. This is the border now with a couple of new Roses, Hypericum and Sedum. In the back of the border I planted Astilbe which was dotted about the garden and a black leafed shrub (Sambuca) with flowers of a similar colour. This border although it looks empty has loads of Aquilegia and Daisies that will come back next year. There's also Periwinkle that should spread and provide ground cover.
